Viesti was a mythical figure on Shurek who provided technology to humanity and was revered as a Goddess. She is the penultimate antagonist of Dragoon X Omega.

Profile

A member of an advanced branch of humanity that wandered the galaxy in massive world ships capable of folding spacetime to achieve faster than light travel, Viesti was one of a group of scientists who would explore planets in the star systems they encountered on their journeys.

After crash landing on Shurek during an attempted expedition from the Ark that killed all her compatriots, she was found by an Amnethenian woodsman, who nursed her back to health. They fell in love, and she became pregnant, but the genetic differences between them due to the tens of thousands of years since their ancestral lineages diverged caused severe issues with the development of the fetus: The child was not able to be born.

The Neverborn became a physical and psychic parasite, with the line between his and Viesti's minds becoming increasingly blurred as time passed. As he grew and became self aware, both he and Viesti began to go insane.

In her madness, Viesti murdered the woodsman, blaming him (And all the humans of Shurek) for the existence she now had to endure...

When a rescue party from the Ark finally found her and brought her back, she became obsessed with using genetic engineering to find a way for the Neverborn to survive outside of her body.

She performed profane experiments in secret, creating legions of twisted creatures as a byproduct of the repeated failures she encountered.

When her people discovered what she was doing and tried to stop her she either had them killed or turned them into yet more monstrosities via experimentation. In the end, Viesti and The Neverborn were the only humans left intact on the Ark out of an original population of millions.

Ultimately, she returned to Shurek in the guise of a deity and gave the people high technology in the hopes they could perfect genetic engineering where she had failed. She then parked the Ark on the edge of the Shurek System where it could not be detected, went into suspended animation, and waited for signs from Shurek that their civilization had developed what she needed.

Lord Vin's creation and deployment of the Meta Knights against the other nations of Shurek a millennium later caught the attention of her monitoring systems, pulling her out of stasis. She then returned to Shurek to take the technology used to create the Meta Knights, with the secondary goal of eradicating all human life with her legions of abominations.

She and The Neverborn were killed by the last Meta Knight, Nika, but not before most of the nations of Shurek were utterly destroyed by her armies.

Viesti serves as the final boss of Dragoon X Omega, acting as a counterpart of the Dragonlord's first form from Dragon Warrior. Template:DXO Enemies
